OPEN WATER COURSE

So you have decided that you want to learn to Dive. The PADI open water diver course takes just three to four days. After the course you will be certified to either rent or purchase your own equipment and go diving without any further instruction. Our team of international instructors will guide you safely through the course ensuring that you leave us being a competent & confidant diver with a licence from PADI that is valid anywhere in the world for the rest of your life.

We do appreciate that many of you will be on holiday so our courses are tailor made to fit your requirements giving plenty of free time for other activities, many of which are available on Longbeach. We pride ourselves on the quality of student divers we certify. To this end we restrict course numbers to 4 students.

Instruction includes a variety of teaching materials such as the PADI Open water course DVD, the PADI Open water diver manual plus Classroom sessions which are Often held on our beach front terrace with fantastic views out to Phi Phi Ley.

Ok. So that’s the theory out of the way. Now it’s the confined water teaching session:.

Your instructor will take you into the warm shallow water right in front of the dive shop. Here you will have your first underwater breathing experience and learn basic skills such as Mask clearing and regulator recovery. Use of the equipment and buoyancy control.

After the Theory and confined water sessions are completed we take you out on one of our comfortable air conditioned dive boats. Over two days you will make four real dives in the marine park repeating one or two of the skills that you have already learnt on each dive. This builds confidence and enables you to master the skills. On both days lunch is provided whilst we moor up in one of the marine park bays with time for snorkelling & sun bathing ect.
