Phi Phi Dive Sites

Without doubt the best diving in Thailand is on the west coast in the warm tropical waters of the Andaman Sea.

At Long Beach Divers we have access to a vast array of dive sites suitable for both Beginners and the more experienced diver.

We make daily trips to the Koh Phi Phi national marine park and regular trips to the King cruiser wreck, Shark point Phuket, Koh Hah, Hin Daeng etc.

Bida Nok

Dive site description

One of Phi Phi’s most famous dive sites. Rated as a 4 star site. A large & Impressive lime stone formation rising 50 metres above sea level. Underwater you will be impressed by the enormous variety of marine life and soft corals. This site has something for everyone with walls, caves and swim through's.

Bida Nai

Dive site Description:
Bida Nai is a world class 4 star dive site with amazing carpets of soft corals. Outlying pinnacles, swim through’s and walls containing a profusion of soft corals & large Gregorian fans, Massive barrel sponges & a huge variety of marine life.

Maximum Depth:
22 metres

what to see:
Black tip reef sharks, Leopard sharks, Banded sea snakes, Cuttlefish, turtles and large shoals of Snapper ,Trevali & Barracuda.

Suitable for:
Open water & Advanced

 

Fantasy Reef

Dive site description:

Three large submerged pinnacles lying between Bida Nok & Bida Nai. Fronted by a carpet of Stag horn coral. The pinnacles are covered with  colorful soft and hard corals  attracting large shoals of fish.

 

Maximum Depth:

28 Metres.

 

What to see:

Leopard sharks, Large shoals of Barracuda, Rays, Turtles, Trevali, Snapper Lion fish, Banded sea Snakes, Scorpion fish etc.

 

Suitable for:

Beginners to Advanced.

 

 

King cruiser wreck.

 

Dive site description: 
The King cruiser sank on 4th May 1997 and lies upright in 32 metres of water half way between Phuket & Phi Phi Island. Having a length of 85 metres and a width of 22 metres. Plenty of swim through's and large shoals of fish. 561 people were rescued by 2 police boats and 5 fishing vessels. This is an amazing dive site usually combined with Shark point and Anemone reef

What to see: 
Great Barracuda, Turtles, Giant Lion fish, Shoals of Trevali & snapper. Moray eels & the occasional Whale Shark.
 
Suitable for certified divers only. 

 

Palong wall

 

Dive site Description:

The best wall dive on Phi Phi . Loads of soft corals with large Gregorian fans. With a keen eye sea horses can be spotted. At the end of the wall towards Maya bay there is a large pinnacle  and some interesting swim through’s plus a small cavern. The most common spot on Phi Phi to see Turtles.

 

Maximum Depth:

19 Metres

 

What to see:

Pipe fish, Turtles, Sea horses, Moray eels, Cuttlefish, Octopus, Lion Fish & the occasional Leopard Shark.

 

Suitable for:

Beginners to Advanced.

 

Shark Point Phuket

 

Dive site Description:

A world class dive site.  Located 1 km from Anemone reef. So named because of the Leopard sharks frequently spotted there. Three Pinnacles absolutely smothered in the most Beautiful soft corals imaginable. Massive barrel sponges, sea whips and fans encrust all three pinnacles.

 

Maximum Depth:

24 metres

 

What to see:

Leopard Sharks, Moray Eels, Turtles, Banded Sea Snakes, Lion Fish, Bearded Scorpion Fish, Honeycomb Groupers, Harlequin Ghost Pipe fish plus shoals of  Trevali, Mackerel & Snapper,

Beginners to Advanced

 

Shark Point Phi Phi

 

Dive site Description: 

Our House Reef. Right in front of the dive shop which runs parallel to the beach for 800 metres. A Popular spot for snorkelling with the resident Black tip reef sharks. Plenty of large table corals & colourful reef fish.

 

Maximum Depth: 

18m.

 

What to see.:

Black tip reef sharks. Fusiliers, Moorish idols, Blue ringed Angel fish, Flute fish, Morays, Scorpion fish, Trumpet fish, Flute fish. Long toms and many more,

 

Suitable for:

Beginners and night dives.

 

Anemone Reef

Dive site description:

Close to Shark point and the wreck of the King Cruiser. Anemone reef is a sloping submerged pinnacle, the top being smothered in colourful anemones. There are many resident clown fish, shrimps and porcelain crabs. The lower slopes are littered with huge barrel sponges and sea fans with patrolling shoals of Snapper & Trevali.

22 Metres.
